Island Foot Care, Reimagined
Meet Dr. G

DR. GABRIELLE HUTCHESON DONALDSON DPM,CWSP,DABPM
Dr. Gabrielle Hutcheson Donaldson, the proud daughter of the late Dr. Elwood Donaldson, MD, carries a legacy of compassion, strength, and purpose in every step of her journey. Inspired by her father’s distinguished career in medicine and the profound impact of his passing, Dr. G developed a deep-rooted passion for healthcare and became a fierce advocate for accessible, high-quality medical care.
She began her academic journey on a full scholarship to the University of Toledo, where she earned her degree in Biology Pre-Med. She later attended the California School of Podiatric Medicine, where she graduated with her Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine
After graduation, Dr. G worked in clinical research, contributing to Phase 3 trials of advanced wound care products, where she discovered her passion for chronic wounds and tissue regeneration. This led her to complete a rigorous residency at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in Brooklyn, where she received extensive surgical training and managed some of the most atypical and limb-threatening cases in one of the country’s most diverse patient populations.
Following residency, she joined a group private practice in New Jersey for nearly two years, further refining her clinical and surgical expertise. Driven by her heart and heritage, she made the intentional decision to return home to Nassau, Bahamas, with the mission to transform wound care access, reduce preventable amputations, and become the region’s leading limb salvage and amputation prevention specialist.
Now double board-certified in podiatric medicine and wound care, Dr. G is a nationally recognized limb salvage specialist who blends surgical expertise with heartfelt care. As a committed member of the American Limb Preservation Society’s Health and Equity Committee, she champions initiatives that bridge healthcare disparities and promote foot health equity across underserved communities.
She is also the founder and host of the Diabetic Foot Files Podcast—the #1 wound care podcast—where she educates, empowers, and inspires patients and professionals with life-saving insights and real-world stories.
And when it comes to transforming toenails, she’s known as “Toenail Barbie,” innovating in toenail reconstruction with artistic precision and medical excellence.
Whether she’s preventing amputation, treating diabetic foot wounds, or giving you back your confidence one toenail at a time, Dr. G is here—where passion meets purpose, and every step forward is a step toward healing.
